Bargain Basement Leftovers

I had a treat today when my girlfriend gave me three giant garbage bags full of old fabrics. It was the kind of thing where you have to dig hard to find something nice, but when you do, it's great. For years, quilters have loved print and texture in every inch of their quilts, but I'm very curious to work with some solids -- reminding me of the sixties. Now I have a little pile of solids and quirky old prints that need to go into something soon!! Hmnnn? There's a shepherd costume lurking in there for Christmas, a baby quilt, a funny lobster lining for a bag.....lots of ideas and so little time. I think the satin red hearts will have to move on to my sister's house.

Here's that jellyroll bag I wanted to share with you. Makes me grin. The Little Owl quilt was made with the same template as my Owl Bag. It's fun to do completely different colorways with a pattern. It's remarkable how completely different the feel can be. Tomorrow I'm working on a cute little apron. Rain makes me work hard. Rain is good. It's suppose to rain.
